SUMMARY:Repair Café - August 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Charles River Repair Coalition & Westwood Environmental Action Committee will cohost their Fall 2026 Repair Café with Mill Forge Makerspace in Norwood! \n\n\n\nThe Repair Café brings together volunteers with particular repair skills and tools will fix items such as bicycles\, clothing\, jewelry\, lamps\, small furniture and small appliances for free. Mingle with neighbors\, enjoy drinks and snacks provided at the event\, and check out projects created by the makers at Mill Forge! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow it Works: \n\n\n\nJust show up with items you want to have repaired! Fixable items include bicycles\, clothing\, jewelry\, lamps\, small furniture and small appliances. One of our “fixers” – volunteers with particular repair skills and tools – will fix your item and help you learn how to spot problems and repair them in the future! \n\n\n\nPlease note: fixing is free but not guaranteed. Also\, if your item needs a replacement part\, you will need to buy or reimburse the fixers for that part.

SUMMARY:Pitch Us A Class!
DESCRIPTION:More classes are being added\, but if you are an expert\, a dedicated hobbyist\, a potential student\, or someone with niche experience or training\, we’d love to hear your ideas for a course! \n\n\n\nMill Forge pays our instructors\, usually $60 per hour (assuming at least 3 students). \n\n\n\nHow to pitch: Put together a brief description of the class; some photos\, drawings\, or designs for projects students would be creating or learning to make; a rough materials list\, and an estimate of how many course hours and students would make a good class. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate – just enough to get the idea. \n\n\n\nEmail us at info@millforge.org or use the contact form to send your idea. We’ll get back to you with questions\, and get your course on the calendar if it’s a good fit!
