Frequently Asked Questions

Mill Forge Makerspace is where ideas become reality and the shared experience of making builds a supportive community. Mill Forge seeks to be an open and accepting third space where people of all skill levels can find the tools, space, expertise, and mutual support to take their inspiration to the next level, and share their enthusiasm with others.

We are located at 61 Endicott St., Building 46, Norwood, MA, in the Winsmith Mill complex at Norwood Commerce Center. Parking is free and located next to the Mill Forge Makerspace facility. Additional parking is available alongside the main Norwood Commerce Center building (Building 23). Loading dock (full-height) is available upon request for moving large materials, tools, or projects.

Mill Forge Makerspace is open to members 24 hours a day. Members receive an access key that allows them to use any equipment on which they are certified, whenever inspiration strikes!

Office Hours are:

  • Sunday – By appointment
  • Monday – By appointment
  • Tuesday – 9AM-5:30PM
  • Wednesday – 9AM-5:30PM
  • Thursday – 9AM-5:30PM
  • Friday – 9AM-5:30PM
  • Saturday – 9AM-5:30PM

The shop manager is frequently available beyond these hours, depending upon projects and events. Please reach out via the contact form to check availability!

Individual members must be 18 years of age or older. Family memberships include all children in the family.

Memberships can be cancelled or suspended at any time. Contact us or see the Shop Manager for details. Please understand that repeated cancellations and re-enrollments to avoid membership fees are frowned upon, and may be subject to minimum-time agreements.

Mill Forge has a wide selection of equipment for woodworking, welding, metalworking, CNC fabrication, 3D printing, textiles, and electronics. Check out our equipment page for more!

Yes, most courses and events are open to the public.

Most basic equipment training is included in the membership fee. Members also receive a discount on advanced courses, public classes, and events with an admission fee.
