The Zen of Woodturning
Come enjoy a couple of sessions of woodturning. Learn how quick and easy it can be to carve wood into a functional item and/or an artistic shape. No prior woodturning experience is required. An instructor, all tools, materials and safety equipment are provided. Beginners and intermediate level students are welcome. Class size is small to give lots of one on one instruction. Each student gets individual instruction that is tailored to his or her observed skill sets.
Each student can choose their own project; typical beginner items include bowls, plates, vases or candle sticks. In addition to making something with your own hands, many students find turning to be easier than they thought, very relaxing, and even meditative! Done correctly, wood shavings just seems to flow off the turning tool.
Typically a 2-session course.
