Learn the unique process of turning freshly cut wood. Perfect for all skill levels, you’ll prepare turning blanks from a log and create bowls that highlight fresh wood’s natural characteristics. What You’ll Learn:

• Introduction to Green Wood Turning: Basics and properties of green wood.
• Wood Selection: Choosing suitable green wood for your project.
• Turning Techniques: Roughing out and finishing green wood bowls.
• Drying and Finishing: Techniques to dry and enhance your bowl’s beauty and durability.

This class is also a valuable opportunity for experienced turners to repeat and delve deeper into advanced subjects they wish to explore.

Materials & Tools

• This utilizes wood from local trees. A variety of chisels and gauges are provided.
• Reclaimed wood used in this class.

Safety & PPE

• Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
• N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
• Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.

Class Size

The maximum class size to allow for highly personalized instruction and attention is four (4) people. Let us know if you would like a larger size and we can add an assistant to help out.
