Happy Holidays 2025

In the words of John Popper, “If it’s Hanukah or Kwanza, Solstice, Harvest, or December 25th, peace on Earth to everyone, and abundance to everyone you’re with.”

It’s been a haul. After almost two years of preparation, Mill Forge Makerspace opened to the public this year and got off to a great start. We’ve been thrilled and validated to have so many enthusiastic volunteers, two hundred visitors at the Grand Opening, new members nearly every week, and active startups, hackers, and hobbyists in the shop almost every day since we opened.

Thank you to all who have helped and continue to work to build the Mill Forge community to its fullest potential.

Seeing folks working on their projects, helping each other out, adding creative and useful elements to the workshop, and hearing the conversations across the shop has been gratifying for me and for all of us who believe in what Mill Forge is and will be.

In 2026, we look forward to the new 800-square-foot welding area (under agreement with construction starting soon), expanded 3D printer capacity, new classes for kids, members, and hobbyists, and continued growth of the small businesses we host. We expect some surprises, too! We’re always looking for the next important tools or classes to add, and with 2025 springing random 3D printers, a Monarch metal lathe, and a couple hundred pounds of fasteners & hand tools, who knows what excitement 2026 will bring!

Holiday Gift For Members! In the spirit of Zwischen den Jahren, Saturnalia, and the ancient Egyptian Heriu-renpet, the “time between the years” – when the lunar and solar calendars end but the new year has not yet begun – the week between Christmas & New Year’s Day will be open for all weekend members at no additional charge, and members can bring a non-member without a guest pass! (Remember, members are responsible for guests’ activities under the membership agreement.)

Winter Break Classes! Check out the courses and events we have coming up this season, especially
