3D Printing Miniatures in Resin
Resin printing offers more detail, finer surface finishes, and efficient scaling for rapidly printing large numbers of small parts or miniatures. Resin prints have more heft and take paints and finishes beautifully, making them ideal for artistic figurines or characters and props for TTRPGs like Warhammer 40K, D&D, Pathfinder or Mordheim!
In this intermediate course you will learn the advantages, quirks, and challenges or resin printing and the operation of resin 3D printing equipment at Mill Forge Makerspace. We’ll cover basic safety and operation of the printers, selecting and preparing a 3D model for resin, use of software for model slicing and printer management, and detecting and preventing common problems with resin prints.
Basic familiarity with FDM (filament) 3D printing or completion of the Intro to 3D Printing course at Mill Forge is recommended prior to this class.
