What You’ll Learn:
Cutting Techniques: How to use a table saw to crosscut and rip wood.
Hinge Installation: How to install hinges for the library door.
Woodworking Skills: How to rabbet wood insets and insert a Plexiglas® door.
Assembly: How to assemble all parts using a combination of glue and countersunk screws.
By the end of this class, you’ll leave with a fully assembled Little Free Library and mounting post, ready to paint and place on your lawn.

Materials & Tools
In addition to a variety of purchased wood and hardware, this class uses a variety of reclaimed lumber that we are redirecting from the dump or burn pile. This may include Brazilian cherry hard wood flooring; pine, oak, poplar, cherry, or maple from pallets; boards made from tress from around the neighborhood, and other woods from old furniture.
Safety & PPE
Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.
Note: Minimum age is 15 and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
