Discover the art of spoon-making in our two-day Spoon Carving Workshop. This course is suitable for both novice and experienced woodworkers interested in traditional spoon carving techniques. Participants will acquire skills to shape wood with various hand tools and create elegant, functional spoons from found wood. You’ll learn how to:

• Safely shape wood utilizing hand tools.
• Design and carve aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic spoons.
• Comprehend grain direction and maintain tool sharpness.

Materials & Tools

• This utilizes wood from local trees. A variety of chisels and gauges are provided.
• Reclaimed wood used in this class.

Safety & PPE

• Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
• N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
• Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.

Class Size

• The maximum class size to allow for highly personalized instruction and attention is four (4) people. Let us know if you would like a larger size and we can add an assistant to help out.
• Note: This class has a minimum age of 15.
