HP DesignJet Plotter

A large beige plotter, about 4 feet wide, on a rolling metal stand.
T790 Plotter at Mill Forge

Manufacturer

Hewlett Packard (HP)

Model

T790 Inkjet Plotter

Description

  • 44 inch wide media
  • Print from PDF on USB storage
  • Print using generic PostScript or native drivers
  • Roll media or sheet-fed

Notes/Tips

  • Check to see what paper is loaded BEFORE printing. Members swap paper types frequently, and you may need to unload and load your preferred media
  • The cable usually attached to the plotter has adapters for both USB-C and USB-A (standard USB) and should work without any dongles
  • For Windows, both the basic print driver and print utility seem to be required in order to print correctly
  • For Mac, some custom paper sizes seem to default to letter size (8.5×11 inches). To work around the issue, save a PDF in the correct custom size to a thumb drive and print via USB instead
  • If your machine doesn’t see the printer via the USB connection, select “Direct Print” from the printer’s touchscreen to enable printing from the PC/Mac
